I have had the pleasure of working alongside our Rosati Leadership program at Connors for the last few years and have seen incredible amounts of growth from all of my students who have participated in the program. 

There is one particular experience and student who sticks out as a clear example why this program is critical to the success of our student athletes in Lewiston. This particular student entered the school year struggling significantly in the classroom. Coach CW and I were able to connect on a daily basis to hold our student athlete accountable for his choices while also ensuring he continued to have access to the Rosati program. As the year continued on and my student bought more and more into the program, I began to watch a slow but steady increase in his leadership skills, social emotional regulation and control. The skills he was learning in Rosati (mindfulness, conflict resolution, etc.) were beginning to translate into the school day. This student who was once part of the daily arguments on the playground soccer field was organizing teams, setting up goals and supporting with conflict resolution. He was focused in class and becoming a quiet leader and role model for his peers.  

I left for 12 weeks of maternity leave and returned to a student who had continued to grow and flourish despite a significant disruption in his school days. I was truly shocked to have seen such significant growth in this student during the course of just one school year. I am absolutely certain this is a testament to Rosati’s program and their willingness to collaborate and serve teachers at Connors in ensuring the success of all our students, as well as their commitment to incorporating social emotional learning and mindfulness through each of their practices. 

Our school community is made exponentially more successful because of our partnership with Rosati. You can feel the incredible energy the second you step into the gym and this energy transcends into our classrooms each and every day.
